Our Mission

The Motors Division provides traffic enforcement, escort services, and public-relations details while maintaining a highly visible presence in the community. Motor deputies represent the Sheriff's Office at parades, funerals, dignitary visits, and major community events year-round.

Day in the Life

A motor deputy's day starts with a thorough bike check — tires, fluids, lighting, radios, and emergency equipment. Most days are a mix of proactive traffic enforcement and pre-scheduled details: a funeral procession, a school-zone enforcement push, or a dignitary movement. Major events like the County Fair or the annual motor rodeo are full-team operations.

Weather, traffic, and pace dictate the day. The work is highly visible by design — motor deputies are out where the public can see them.

Why Motors?

If you ride and you want a high-visibility specialty, this is the unit. Motor deputies are the most public face of the Sheriff's Office at every parade, escort, and community event. The riding is technical, the work is varied, and the team is tight.
